"There are so many beautiful stories, yet to be written. Yet to be told."

A demure, short-statured Seeker–named Sharlodde at birth but thereon referred to almost exclusively by her nickname, Loddie—was brought up within a non-tribal conforming miqo'te family during a period of prosperous harvest in La Noscea. Born in the now no longer existing Bald Knoll, the young girl spent much of her childhood with her head up in the clouds. Having managed up to secondary school in education, Loddie found her and her family displaced at sixteen as the fall of Dalamud destroyed their home and all surrounding land.

Though the realm around them changed, the Leaman family still had each other and found a means to start anew. Joining the initiative to rebuild the farmlands and aetheryte camps destroyed during the Calamity – Loddie and her family made settlement in the newly built Swiftperch settlement in Western La Noscea. While the Leaman's toiled away at the barren earth, being one of few families to remain in the nearly abandoned hamlet after many disappointing harvests, Loddie's elder sister Patricia eventually set about her own path once coming of age, moving to Limsa Lominsa to make hats. Loddie on the other hand chose to stay with her parents to help Swiftperch, primarily at the behest of her mother whom she was disinclined to refuse. Having made only brief station in Summerford Farms in an attempt to help in the production of new farming techniques that might assist in the restoration of the western farmlands, the miqo'te eventually returned to Swiftperch with little to show in helping their faltering cause. Left more to her own devices as the years pressed on, Loddie found herself further caught up in her daydreams, her love for reading and fantastical stories cultivating an idealistic and bleeding heart out of her. Even with such a conviction for good, Loddie is an unquestionable coward – hiding and crying at even the slightest potential of conflict.

Having come across a hrothgar by the name of Odisej one fateful, rainy afternoon whose caravan wheel had broken down, the two agreed to an arrangement where he would help guide her to Abalathia Spine; in order to study their means of cultivating in such dramatic climates. The man and his brother took Loddie all across Aldenard, showing the woman many places she'd never even dreamt to see. Upon returing to Swiftperch, Loddie spoke with her parents and decided to continue traveling around the realms. Having feared disappointing them by not remaining beside them to help with the Swiftperch initiative, her father–Franco–insisted she go out and live the life she wanted. Loddie's mother–Constanza–expressed frustration at the idea, but Franco assured their daughter that with time her mother would be fine. As such, Loddie now travels with her hrothgar companions, seeing the star and gaining more content for her on-going novel. She returns to Vylbrand often to visit her family.

Hooks

⋄ Don't Let Her Positive Atmosphere Dissuade You... Loddie and her persona are so bright and sweet, you'd think she's the sort of character to have absolutely zero interest in the dark/gritty sort of RPs. This is true, from an in-character point of view, but as a writer, Loddie is entirely available to participate in mature roleplay. This is not and invitation to any sort of unsolicted sexual advances in the slightest, but rather a heads up that, hey – while she has the personality of a kitten, she is definitely an adult character played by an adult over 21 who will partake in darker themed interactions.⋄ Naïve... Loddie only wants what is best for people and takes a great deal of inspiration from the stories she busies herself reading everyday. Unfortunately, many of those stories are grounded in fantasy, often times making her overly idealistic and her beliefs somewhat childish. She's not against growth, wanting more experience, but it may be difficult at times to break through that comfortable bubble she's built.⋄ Literature... Loddie loves to read, just as much as she loves to write. She's willing to talk about books and stories with anyone willing to listen to her go on about them for potential bells.⋄ Vylbrand Native... While having since left the comfort of her island, Loddie's heart will always be at home on Vylbrand. Her family home can be found on Swiftperch, where her parents still reside. She sometimes will visit and can be found there on occassion⋄ Traveled... Upon making the decision to continue traveling with her hrothgar comapanion, Odisej–after a long journey to Abalathia Spine–Loddie now continues on her dream path of seeing the world. Her travels contributing to the story she'd dedicated herself to writing. As a result, she can be found in any variety of places, depending on where her travel companions take her.If her current residence is listed as Swiftperch however, it means she's back on Vylbrand for the time being until that changes.

Family

Pa ⋄ Franco Leaman

❀ ⋄ ☑ ⋄ 🎕

Loddie's father. The man is the kind and supportive parent. He works hard tending to his land on Swiftperch.Born and raised on Vylbrand, his family line has long since lived on the island, having abandoned their tribal ways long ago.

Mum ⋄ Constanza Leaman

❀ ⋄ ☑ ⋄ 🎕

Loddie's mother. The woman is the stern and judgemental parent. She tends to the Swiftperch family home and partakes in community affairs.Constanza's mother immigrated alone from Meracydia while pregnant with her – raising her fifth daughter on Vylbrand in a semi-tribal upbringing as a single mother.Born Wuut̠ʲpu'kuut̠ʲpu which approximates in Eorzean-evolved Huntspeak to I'mara, she adopted the name 'Constanza' while growing up on the island.

Sister ⋄ Patricia Leaman

☑ ⋄ ⧉ ⋄ 🎕

Loddie's elder sister by two years. The more extroverted and courageous of the two, they have been close since childhood and she still remains Loddie's best friend to this day.The woman works in Limsa proper as a milliner, having originally made a name (albeit small) for her hat-making skills amongst the Swiftperch inhabitants.

Friends & Acquaintances

Balakros of the Barvitýasch

Elder brother of Odisej, Loddie knows Balakros to be the far more level-headed and kinder of the two. Often away in the major cities nearby, he spends most of his time working. Even though their relationship is an acquaintanceship at best, she finds him a friendly and comforting presence.

Cordelia

☑ ⋄ 🖋

Having introduced herself to Loddie with just a forename, Cordelia is a friendly-faced Viera who seems to have taken a liking to the Seeker. A now ex-pirate and sometimes mercenary, she travels the road of La Noscea as a performer, as well as being a culinarian who just recently opened their dream establishment.Striking up a business partnership with Loddie, the Miqo'te aims to provide Cordelia's bar/bodega with local produce to help contribute to La Noscea's weakened economy. The two get along well and Loddie enjoys Cordelia's company.

Eylili Eyli

☑ ⋄ ⧉

A softspoken plainsfolk woman Loddie met some summers ago during her many temporary jobs. The two of them hit it off with similar interests, as well as living within short proximity of one another. As a fellow La Noscean, Loddie finds kinship with Eylili and considers her to be one of her closest friends, outside that of her sister. The two often meet for tea, snacks, book discussion, and general local gossip.

Odisej of the Barvitýasch

☑ ⋄ ⧉?

A hrothgar Loddie found wandering the countryside in the rain. After helping him, she couldn't quite seem to shake his company. Younger brother to Balakros, he is the far more bruque and hot-headed of the two. Despite how strenuous this can make the atmosphere at times, him and Loddie spend a lot of time together and she considers him a tentative friend. The three of them had ventured across Aldenard together in order to see Abalathia Spine. Now they set forth to venture wherever the wind takes them.

Sahadeva Sinha

☑ ⋄ 🖋

A kindly Thavnarian man Loddie met during her time as a temporary manager of Red Rooster Stead. Since his arrival at La Noscea, Sahadeva has established himself in the heart of Limsa with his shop the Three Gems—a 24/8 atelier open to the community. In subsequent encounters, Sahadeva has proffered Loddie the means to better support Swiftperch through an endorsement of better tools. Loddie as well expressed an interest in part-time work at the Three Gems, a notion he received positively. Loddie feels a great debt to the man for his generosity, despite his insistence against such a thing.

Meracydian Name Derivatives

Hey there, thanks for stopping a second to take a look at this. I put a stupid amount of effort into figuring out an authentic name for Loddie's mother, based off the presumption many have that Meracydia may be Australian-based. I acknowledge it very well could be African-based instead/as well (due to the origins of sesame, a large export of Meracydia) and will change this if it comes to light this is the case. I learned a lot about the plight of Australian Aboriginal people through researching an applicable language influence for Miqo'te. Since I have taken inspiration from the ritualistic Demiin language of the Kunhanaamendaa people as a base for Miqo'te Meracydian "huntspeak"–due to the similarities in being a Click Consonant language–I have decided I wanted to use this platform to share awareness and spread the resources I used to learn more about the Kunhanaamendaa and help bring support to the indigenous people of Australia.Since this is considered a ceremonial language register, I would like to preface this passage from wikipedia covering the nature of Demiin:Once [Demiin] had been learned, the speakers were known as Demiinkurlda ("[Demiin] possessors"). They spoke the register particularly in ritual contexts, but also in everyday secular life, when foraging, sitting about gossiping, and the like. While it was used primarily in ritualistic contexts, it was as well used secularly. Any and all derivatives are done with the utmost respect for the culture in mind.
